Services — Driveway Repairs
The shop comes to you. Your car never leaves the driveway.
Labor $125–135/hr — parts quoted before work beginsThe Service
The dirty secret of auto repair is that a large share of jobs — brakes, starters, alternators, water pumps, belts, hoses, sensors, tune-ups, cooling system work — need good tools and a good mechanic, not a lift and a lobby. Those jobs can happen in your driveway, on your schedule, while you stay home and do whatever you'd rather be doing than sitting in a waiting room with a vending machine.
For classic and vintage vehicles, mobile repair isn't just convenient — it's often the safer option. Every mile on a flatbed is a risk to fragile trim, old tires, and low-hanging exhausts, and every shop visit means your irreplaceable machine sits in an unfamiliar lot overnight. We'd rather bring the expertise to the car than drag the car to the expertise.
Some jobs genuinely do need a lift, a press, or a machine shop — and when yours is one of them, we'll tell you that straight, explain why, and point you in the right direction rather than attempt something in a driveway that shouldn't be done in one.
Our labor rate is $125 to $135 per hour, and it's published right here rather than revealed after the work. Parts are quoted separately at wholesale plus a standard markup — you see the parts cost before we order anything, and you're welcome to supply your own parts on jobs where that makes sense (common with classic owners who've already sourced the correct NOS or reproduction pieces).

Before work begins you get an estimate of hours; if we open something up and find more than expected — a hazard of forty-year-old fasteners — we stop and talk to you before the bill grows. Use the estimate calculator to ballpark a job, or see the full pricing page for how everything is billed.
We specialize in vehicles 25 years and older: Japanese icons from Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru; pre-'94 Volvos; and true vintage of every make from before 1972. These cars want a mechanic who knows that a points ignition is set with a dwell meter, that some fasteners come loose only with patience and penetrating oil, and that the correct answer to a worn part is sometimes rebuild, not replace — because the replacement hasn't been manufactured since the Carter administration.
We offer discounts for veterans and seniors (65+), and flexible payment plans for those who qualify. Getting older cars — and their owners — taken care of shouldn't depend on having the whole invoice on hand the day of the repair. The FAQ covers how this works.
