Pricing

Every Rate, Published

If you have to ask what it costs after the work is done, the shop did it wrong.

The Rates

What A Mobile Mechanic Costs Here

Most shops treat pricing like a secret. We publish ours, because a fair rate survives daylight. These are the numbers — the same ones our estimate calculator uses:

ServiceRateNotes
Mobile Diagnostics $125 + $1.50/mi Base fee plus mileage from Port Angeles. Full diagnostic at your location.
Driveway Repairs $125–$135/hr Labor billed hourly. Parts quoted separately at wholesale + markup, approved before ordering.
Pre-Purchase Inspection Quoted on request 51-point inspection at the seller's location; price depends on vehicle and distance.
Fix & Flip Paid from sale No upfront cost — repairs and fee come out of the vehicle's sale proceeds.

Worked examples

JobMathTotal
Diagnostic in Port Angeles (5 mi)$125 + 5 × $1.50$132.50
Diagnostic in Sequim (~17 mi)$125 + 17 × $1.50$150.50
Diagnostic in Port Townsend (~47 mi)$125 + 47 × $1.50$195.50
2-hour driveway repair2 × $130 (midpoint) + parts$260 + parts

Parts, taxes, and additional labor beyond the estimate aren't included in these figures — but you approve every one of those before it happens. That's the whole policy: nothing lands on your invoice that you didn't see coming.

The Questions Everyone Asks

Are mobile mechanics more expensive than a shop?

Our hourly rate is comparable to Peninsula repair shops. The total is where mobile usually wins: a disabled car needs a tow to reach a shop, and a tow across the Peninsula routinely costs more than our entire travel fee. Add the hours you don't spend shuttling and waiting, and mobile repair is frequently the cheaper option — and always the more convenient one.

Why a per-mile travel fee instead of a flat one?

Because a flat "service area fee" makes customers in Port Angeles subsidize trips to Forks. Per-mile means close customers pay less and far customers pay exactly what the distance costs — nothing hidden, nothing averaged.

What about parts?

Parts are quoted at wholesale plus a standard markup, shown to you before we order. On classic-car jobs where you've already sourced the correct parts, you're welcome to supply your own where it makes sense.

Discounts & payment plans

Veterans and seniors (65+) get a discount, and flexible payment plans are available for those who qualify. Keeping older cars on the road matters most for the people on fixed incomes who depend on them — ask when you request your estimate.
